haha, it’s funny watching the homie Tim Westwood discuss Trey Songz’ sex simulation scene from his London concert. Eek. But one thing we have learned is…if you’d like to get pulled on stage and tongued down by Trey. Just attend in a “I Love Trey” muscle-tee, lol.
As for his “Bottoms Up” duet-partner Nicki Minaj, at the 19-minute mark, Trey is pressed to give her a rating on the scale of 1 thru 10, he stops short of a perfect 10 (because really, who’s perfect? lol), and rates her “9.48976.”

This is one of my favorite songs of the year so far. I listen to it constantly. I’ve sent it to homegirls and cousins and my sis. And I stayed at the end of Twilight: Eclipse to watch the end credits while the song played. In fact, this song, along with Cee-Lo’s “No One’s Gonna Love You” remake video, makes him one of my current obsessions. I wish I could hear Cee-Lo re-sing every R&B song and pop song on the radio right now. I want to hear a Cee-Lo rendition of the entire The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill album, and hear him riff over “Hard in the Paint.” I want him to sing K-Ci and JoJo tunes at my wedding. I want Cee-Lo to go on a club tour with Travis Barker as Trvs-Clo.

Then Nardwuar pulls out an Al Green LP featuring Drake’s own family members!: D: “My Uncle, Willie Mitchell, he would be the producer, and he would be the engineer too, so he’s [like] 40….and (Al Green guitar player) Teenie Hodges is my relation, he’s a very close uncle…”
Then Nardwuar pulls out Drake’s other uncle’s work, Larry Graham of Graham Central Station! WTF! How many brothers did Drake’s Mom and Dad have?! And how did they pool together so much musical genetic talent?!
But the episode is topped off when Nard pulls out the elusive “f–king red leather jacket with the zippers” for him and Drake to rock, completely non-ironically. I love seeing the unjaded glee of both Drake and 40, lol. And big up to my coworker Peter Rosenberg for his part in bringing these guys together. Very cool.
whoa, this song gets personal. In the previous post, we saw Kanye addressing the employees at Facebook and blessing them with acapella excerpts from 4 new songs off Good Ass Job (or whatever the new album ends up being called). While the other songs “Chain Heavy” and “Sweat On My Face” are upbeat and full of bravado, this song “My Mama’s Boyfriend” deals with the mind of child Kanye resenting his mother’s boyfriend and how that affected grown Kanye. Very introspective. (I wonder if some of the audience felt uncomfortable with the language?) (Props to MRU2010)

Kanye looks like a castmember from Mad Men, and gets the suits at Facebook goin’ crazy when he speaks to them and spits some new lyrics off his upcoming (possibly titled) Good Ass Job album. He performed parts of “Chain Heavy” and “Sweat On My Face” acapella….(props to Meka/2Dope, Dre/Nahright and Illionaire/UHTN!)

I can’t believe Ross actually tweeted this photo and titled it “Jewels come out at night“…..lol, the irony. This is dead sexy though.
According to my homies who pay to get the first-day-projections and the early outlooks (and HitsDailyDouble also reported earlier)….Rick Ross will bump Eminem out of the #1 Billboard spot, which he’s held down strong after having the biggest debut of the year (741k)….but it was very close. Teflon Don’s first week sales of 189k nudged Recovery aside by just 2000 albums. Eminem’s 4th week sales were 187k.
UPDATE: While everyone from HitsDailyDouble to MTV was lead to believe from the projections that Rick Ross would debut at #1 (for his 4th album in a row)….the final numbers (176k) actually put him at #2, selling just 11,000 albums less than Eminem’s Recovery (187k). Seriously, this Marshall guy? Wow. That album has been #1 for FIVE WEEKS already! Who does that?
Question: Given the tremendous buzz that both Ross and “BMF” have right now, is this result higher or lower than your office pool predicted?

There’s some hope because Peter Berg is directing. He’s that actor who was awesome in The Last Seduction, and since then has done a great job directing/producing Friday Night Lights, and a not so great job directing Hancock. (blech) But also interesting….it seems he’s also working on a “Cocaine Cowboys” feature film. Hmm.
this made me sad…not so much in a bad way, just in a touching sense. One thing about Fat Joe is that his memory is so sharp, he has a way of making things that happened years ago, seem so alive. I really think its a gift because for me, so many of my memories seem unreal now. Like all the edges are fuzzy. (And its not because of weed or anything, I’ve always had a very odd selective memory, lol). Anyway….we know from listening to “I’m Gone” that Primo gave Joe the beat on the day of Guru’s death. And we know that colors the entire tone of the song. But I appreciate that Fat Joe communicates in a very convincing way (to those who may not have grown up on GangStarr music) how powerful they were (and still can be to any fan).
